CHRISTMAS GET TOGETHER 2011
Our Christmas Get Together was held on Saturday 10th December 2011 at the usual venue the Parkway Sports and Social Club, Plymouth and as always was a superb success.
It was great to see the regular attendees joined by quite a few new faces and the ‘sea stories’ and catching up with old ship mates was evident all over the room.
As always the Committee members were kept very busy dealing with members requests and the wonderful buffet, prepared by Pauline Elliott, was enjoyed by everyone.
A bumper crop of draw prizes provided by many of the members ensured that Doreen Sellick and the ladies were kept busy selling and folding the tickets ready for the draw. Committee Member Mike Baines made a last assault on the pockets of the attendees to sell even more tickets when he saw that there was more demand.
What a wonderful a fitting end to yet another successful year for the Association, thanks largely to the magnificent efforts of the Committee, the helper and of course the membership.
