OTHER DEVONPORT SUPPORT VESSELS

Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH)

Largest vessels in the fleet these passenger carrying vessels take up to 75 passengers. They are used to transfer Navy personnel to and from ships on Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST). They have a vertically adjustable brow to allow moving transfers. The vessel names are SD BOVISAND and SD CAWSAND.

Pilot/VIP Launches  SD TAMAR RACER & SD TAMAR SPIRIT (right) carry up to twelve passengers. Mostly  VIP's and Admiralty Pilots

There are also a number of dumb barges operating at Devonport supplying fresh water, fuel, armament, sullage removal, sewage removal and tank cleaning.

There only two still in operation in Falmouth, SD MEON and SD MENAI.

SD VICTORIA built by Damen in Galatz Shipyard and is a direct replacement for SD NEWTON.  The ship is 83 meters in length and is capable of worldwide deployment to conduct military training and support roles.
